Monostiliferous hoplonemerteans living on the gills or egg masses of crabs. Animal without cephalic furrows; eyes two, rarely with one or both subdivided by fragmentation; rhynchocoel short, reaching but a little distance behind the cerebral ganglia and without muscular walls, consisting only of thin lining membrane closely applied to the proboscis; proboscis reduced, small, very short, with a central stylet and stylet basis but without accessory stylets or accessory pouches, anterior proboscis with non-glandular epithelium; dermis thin; body wall musculature weakly developed; frontal organ absent; cephalic glands very well developed, opening to the exterior via improvised ducts; submuscular glands extremely well developed throughout the body; cerebral sensory organs absent; nervous system with neither neurochords nor neurochord cells; blood vascular system with two longitudinal vessels only, without transverse connectives other than at the front and rear; excretory system absent; intestinal caecum absent, stomach opening directly into anterior of intestine, intestine with lateral diverticula; sexes separate, males with testes discharging into a single internal duct which in turn opens into the rear of the intestine, usually oviparous, although internal fertilisation with subsequent development to free-swimming embryos may occur infrequently.
