Lineus albocinctus

(Bergendal, 1903)

Description:
A slender, soft nemertean. The front part of the body is cylindrical, the hind part is dorso-ventrally compressed. The head has lateral grooves, is spatula-shaped, and not separated from the body. The body is translucent with two dorso-lateral white lines. Two redbrown ocelli are situated at the tip of the head. In the hind part of the body the gut is visible. A caudal appendage is absent.

Habitat:
Muddy bottoms.

Distribution:
Rather common near Helsingør, Denmark.
